our story

In Saffron Hearth we saw the opportunity to draw upon that which we love, our ability to create something of beauty and quality. We love colour and texture, flavour and fragrance. We love the exotic as much as the delicate and subtle. We love giving and creating for others, we love generosity and abundance. To us, this is the essence of PAELLA.

At Saffron Hearth we create Handcrafted Spanish Paella infused with the flavours of Tasmania. We craft our Paella using a combination of locally grown and harvested quality ingredients, and cook for you with love.

The creating and cooking of our Paella is purely a sensory experience; to see, to smell, to taste, to feel. One can’t help but be drawn to the distinctly enticing aroma and the golden hue of saffron, as our wholesome ingredients simmer away in our spectacular 90cm pans.

A LITTLE ABOUT SOME OF OUR INGREDIENTS

Our ingredients, where possible, are sourced from local growers and producers who make the conscious choice to ethically and responsibly farm and harvest their produce.

World class TAS-SAFF Saffron adds to the gourmet quality, vibrancy and delicate taste of our Paella. It’s grown locally in the beautiful Huon Valley.

The olive oil we use is from OLIVE GROVES OF TASMANIA. It’s 100% responsibly grown and processed in Campania, and is of superior quality.

We season our Paella with TASMAN SEA SALT which is sustainably harvested from some of the cleanest and most nutrient rich waters in the world.

Award winning SPRING BAY MUSSELS, Tasmanian Atlantic Salmon from HUON AQUACULTURE, and Arrow Squid from our pristine local waters, add their superb quality and delicate taste to our Paella.

We use succulent Free Range chicken from NICOL’S POULTRY, fresh seasonal vegetables and high quality organic spice.

CALASPARA rice gives a touch of authenticity to our Handcrafted Paella. It’s a unique short grain rice, grown in the mountains of the Spanish province of Murcia. The rice is fed by pure water from the mountain streams and is delivered via aqueducts that were engineered by the Moors and Romans. This rice absorbs 3 times its weight in stock and hence produces an incredible depth and quality of flavour.
